How to Use MedGen Architect

  1. Login using the email you purchased "MedGen Architect" with.

  2. Type in the "Protocol Title".

  3. Choose the Interface Theme from the drop down list. (These will only show up on the Users app.)

  4. Type in "The Department/Attending"

  5. Choose a "Primary Reference Image" and "Logo" if desired. (The program automatically sizes the image. You just need to crop and edit prior to uploading.)

    Mine filled out so far.

  6. Pro-Tip: I recommend clicking "Export Protocol (JSON)" now. While the program auto-saves, technology can be unpredictable at the worst times. Having a backup is your best insurance—if anything glitches, just grab the .JSON file from your Downloads folder to pick up right where you left off.

  7. If you ever have to reload your lesson, click the "Open Lesson" button and go to the downloads folder on your computer and look for the json file. Click on the file and chose "open" at the bottom of the page.

  8. Now click the "+ Add Clinical Step" button.

You’ll see a toolbar at the top of the screen. Here’s what each button does:

  9. I clicked Category to create a new section. I will name it. "Incision Care". Now give the title a name.

"Opening the Program" Now we can write an explanation on how to open the html file. If you want you can add a picture. (You can leave this blank.)

  10. Now click the next step or click "Remove" at the top of the box if you want to start over. You can add as many boxes as you wish to make a long or a short lesson.

  11. When you are finished creating your lesson, I suggest creating a json file to store in case you ever need to come back and edit the lesson. Next click "Generate Interactive Protocol".

  12. The Architect will say it is ready for Download.

  13. This is the application you will provide to your Users. Note: In some cases, HTML files must be compressed into a ZIP folder for distribution. When the recipient downloads it, they will need to select “Extract” before the file can be opened and viewed properly.

  14. In the final step the users can go back to the list and print their assessment. Note that all times completed are listed.

Important: This is a live document, but it is stored locally by the user. If you make changes in the generator, you must generate and distribute a new HTML file for those updates to take effect for your users.
